Your Fears Have Been Confirmed: You’re Paying Too Much for a Lip Kit

Anything that bears either the Kardashian or Jenner name kommands serious #kash money. A liquid lipstick and a liner? That would be at least $29, please.

Beauty vlogger Stephanie Nicole does point out that you’re not exactly getting with your paying for. In her extensive review, she even went down to compare the Lip Kit to ColourPop Clueless Ultra Matte Lip to the very last ingredients. The result? They are exactly the same.

For reference COLOR KEY: Yellow – Same ingredient, same order in formula. Blue – Same ingredient, different order in formula. Purple – Same pigments, different order (pigments are not required to be in order). Please note, this is the updated ColourPop formula. Not the first launch (any color outside their first launch is new formula) Not all ColourPop’s ultra mattes have been reformulated yet. According to them, they hope to do it in time. So don’t try & compare your first launch to the new Lip Kits…or the first launch lip kits. They are not the same. ADD: also, to be clear, the ingredients do need to be listed in order of highest concentration, to its least. The order does matter in a formula. Even if the ingredients are identical, if they are in a completely different order they won’t wear the same. The bulk of the formula, the first several ingredients, are the same, same order. What follows isn’t enough to significantly change the wear compared to the new ColourPop Ultra Mattes

Apart from that, Stephanie talks about how the latest formula is watery as compared to the earlier releases which had a creamier texture.  

She even found that the new formula of Candy K has a more purple color than the original.

Tsk, tsk, Kylie. This isn’t the first time someone noticed the kuality of Kylie’s lippies aren’t top dollar. Internet sensation and cosmetic guru Jefree Starr also noted how the lipsticks had frayed wands the moment he opened them and sent them straight to the trash.

But still, somehow, Kylie’s Lip Kit’s are selling out. Can’t beat the game when you’ve got the name?
